Worst Job in the World: A Thanksgiving Poem

1. Working for a nonprofit is the worst job in the world
2. I believe that with all my heart and you’ll never be able to convince me that
3. It’s a worthy career path to follow
4. In the big scheme of things, when you look at the work and the reward, you’ll soon discover that
5. It often feels like a never-ending job
6. Even if
7. Positive community change happens because of your nonprofit’s mission
8. It’s useless and that helper’s high disappears all too quickly
9. So don’t trust anyone who tells you that
10. Hard work pays off
11. Because
12. A happy life and a fulfilling life calling are acquired
13. Only for one in a million
14. It’s not true that happiness at work exists
15. Your big, do-good, helping heart
16. Conflicts with
17. This mindset
18. “There’s really nothing you can do to change things”
19. That’s why you’ll never read one of my blogs that says
20. Nonprofit work is a worthy and commendable profession.

It's Thanksgiving, let's remember how many people are thankful for the work you do because their lives will forever be changed for good.
